free play

Last weekend we brought the girls to the mall,
and they played in the little play area...
they had lots of fun and it was free!

they love those cars- you'd have thought they were really

moving by the expression on brielle's face!

Well, the two younger girls had lots of fun...
Tylia is getting a little old
to be satisfied with that kind of free fun!
But she had a little bit of fun, too-
even if she wouldn't admit it :)

These days we're all about having "free fun"!

Although we did get ice cream cones, so it wasn't

completely free- but worth it!

their first day

I'm so excited... school has started! I love this
time of year... with fall just around the corner,
school started and back to the weekly routine!
This year we had two school girls.
Tylia started 3rd grade... I can't believe it!
She's getting so big. She told me that
this year she wants to be "more in style"!
She's growing up way too fast!
And Paige started Kindergarten! She
did so well- she loved school!
She met a friend and loves
her teacher :o)
Here she was, all lined up and ready to
walk to her classroom! She waved happily
at me and Brielle as we waited to watch
her march along with the rest of her
classmates behind the teacher like
little ducklings (I always get a kick out of
seeing the little kindergartners-
they look so teeny tiny!).
I felt so sorry for the little guy in front
of her- he just sobbed all the way into
the classroom! Poor kid!
Even though its only for a few hours a day
(Paige goes half days), I think I'm going
to enjoy having only one baby at home!
Hopefully I don't get bored... but I'm hoping
to start getting more scrapbooking done :o)

the red door

I've always LOVED the look of different colored doors on houses... like a green door on a white house or a red door on a brown house. I've been bugging my sweet, overworked hubby to paint our door red for the past year, but he just never had the time. I finally started hinting that I might just do it myself... and suddenly he decided he might have enough time! So in one day he painted our plain boring white door a beautiful barn red- I'm loving it! we decided to replace the shiny brass hardware while we were painting. The final look is just what I had in mind.

this is the best 'before' picture I could find... it makes me laugh because it was
only taken a year ago and my girls look so different already!

And here is the after picture! It looks a little orange in this photo... in real life
its slightly more red. and of course theres our sweetie pie in the pic, too!

we've had a busy week... school started!! our oldest started on wednesday and our
second starts kindergarten tomorrow... traditional 'first day of school' photos coming soon!

Kasens first birthday

On Sunday afternoon we celebrated my nephew Kasens first birthday...
he's such a cutie pie! We just love him to pieces!
I love the expression on his face in this pic- its so typical of him!
Mmmmm- he loved his cake!

opening his presents... maybe a little overwhelming!

This is one of the gifts we gave him.
I made it using my awesome new scrapbooking toy, my cricut!

Happy first birthday, Kasen!! We love you sooo much and pray that
you will be blessed in all your years to come!

wedding flowers for Christa & Lars

Me and my sister, Katie, had a very busy weekend! we did the wedding flowers for one of the most beautiful wedding I've seen in a long time! I just loved the way they did the lighting in the tent, and the natural beauty of the surroundings made it perfect for an outdoor wedding! It was a lot of fun to do the flowers for this wedding... lots of work, but fun too!

She had 20 tables under the tent, and the bridal table

this was a centerpiece on the bridal table

and this was a centerpiece on one of the other tables

the bridal table... so pretty!

this was the isle- It was so naturally beautiful it
didn't really need much decor. We just did 4 hanging poms
that hung from shepards hooks, and the two urns at the front.

these were the two urns at the front... I didn't get any shots of the
bouquets or the hanging poms, but maybe I can grab some from
someone else who was there... (hint, hint...anyone?)

so that was what I've been doing for the past several days!
And today I get to go hang out at my nephews/Godchilds 1st birthday party-
The perfect end to a busy week!

Happy Holidays.... ?

I'm not sure why I've been thinking about Christmas lately... maybe because school is starting soon. Maybe because we exchanged Christmas names with my family... or maybe just because I LOVE Christmas and everything that goes with it! It's my favorite time of the year :o) So I went and found some of the cards I made last year and I thought I'd share them

Tylias birthday: PRICELESS!

Birthday cake, balloons, streamers: $25

Hannah Montana pinata filled with candy: $20

dozens (and I mean DOZENS) of water balloons, all filled by me: $2

Seeing the joy and happiness on my first born daughters face on her special day:

PRICELESS!

we celebrated Tylias 8th birthday on Saturday and it was a fun day! We had the typical cake and ice cream and party food. There were balloons, filled with both helium and water, there was a pinata and there was lots of fun to be had!

Tylia asked her Grampa for a special birthday present... a ride on his Harley. And of course he said yes!

I can't believe she's already 8... it seems like the years have flown by WAY too fast! I can't imagine what the next 8 will be like... I'm praying they won't go by as fast, but I'm thinking they'll go faster!
