green roses

I made this sweet little frame with green roses for the Color My World challenge # 3: use green in an unusual way. I don't know how unusual this is, but I love how it turned out!

I already want to make a series of 3 for one of my girls rooms- its so sweet and feminine.

about 20 silk roses (I got mine from the dollar store in bunches of 4 or 5- very cheap!)
a glue gun and about 3 sticks of glue.
any frame you have- the opening of this one is 8x10, so if you do a bigger frame you'll need more roses.
a piece of 8x10 cardboard.
I punched holes in the cardboard in even rows. I just eyed it, but you could measure :) I did
4 holes across, 5 down.
remove roses from the stems. Pipe hot glue around the base of the rose, underneath. Pop the rose into a hole and repeat 19 times :) then place the cardboard into the frame, and voila! Super cute, super easy- and for me, super cheap! All I bought was the roses- I had everything else on hand.

  1. thats so neat! I might want to do that in cream for my downstairs:)

  2. Cute! I have been trying to come up with something but so far I got nothing... :)

  3. What a great and simple idea! I can imagine it would look great in several colors each in dif frames hung together. Unusual and lovely.
